Spain qualifies for the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup Final

The Spanish team will be present in the final of the Longines Nations Cup which will take place next Sunday at the Olympic Arena of the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona. Spain finished in third position in the qualifying round, held this afternoon on the opening day of the CSIO Barcelona. The team formed by Manuel Fernández Saro (Jarlin de Torres), Alberto Márquez Galobardes (Aldo du Manoir), Mariano Martínez Bastida (Belano V. Wijnhoeve Z) and Eduardo Álvarez Aznar (Full Option Van't Zand) scored only five points and made it to the final thanks to a perfect last round by Eduardo Álvarez Aznar.

France, who did not score a single penalty, and Ireland, with only four points, were the first two finishers. Sunday's final (3 p.m.) will be completed by Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands and Great Britain. At stake in this grand final will be an Olympic place for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, for which only Belgium and Switzerland are in contention.
